(referred to herein as “Jensen Mandarin”) is an online virtual private language school designed as a platform to provide online language lessons and tuition by Mandarin language teachers in its employ to purchasers of Language Training services. The platform includes scheduling, payment, and text communications functions; it also provides for scheduling of live, in person language lessons by the same teachers.

Jensen Mandarin and the Owner take all reasonable measures to ensure that only experienced and qualified Language Teachers are employed by Jensen Mandarin to provide Language Training Services to its customers. All applicants for Language Teacher positions will submit an employment application to Jensen Mandarin including details of their language teaching qualifications and experience. Only after the application is accepted, and a rigorous interview process and appropriate training are completed, will the teacher be offered teaching opportunities from Jensen Mandarin.

However, Language Students should be aware, that as a private Language School, Jensen Mandarin can make no claim to have qualified for any officially sanctioned accreditation, thus, we can offer no guarantees in regards to the provision, quality, accuracy, timely completion or legality of any Language Training Service provided to a registered Language Student, nor can there be any guarantee that Language Students availing themselves of our services will as a result achieve qualifications as described by any articles of accreditation, to which accredited schools must conform. We can offer only a promise that we diligently pursue high standards in all of these matters, and a claim that we have a sufficient number of years of experience in the field of Mandarin Training for non-Chinese students, to back it up.

General User Responsibilities

All registered Users of the jensenmandarin.com web site agree not to post, distribute, publish or by any other means transmit material that is offensive, including offensive language, photography or any other material of an offensive or sexual nature, within the context of the jensenmandarin.com web site, nor knowingly to any of its customers or staff. Breach of this condition by any member will result in termination of that members registration and may result in the appropriate authorities being notified.

All registered Users of the jensenmandarin.com web site agree not to post, distribute, publish or by any other means place any computer code on the jensenmandarin.com web site which directly or indirectly links to another web site without our express permission.

All registered Users of the jensenmandarin.com web site further agree not to distribute nor share their Jensen mandarin Login and/or Password details with any other individual or company for the purposes of allowing others to utilize the services provided through jensenmandarin.com.

Every registered User of Jensen Mandarin.com warrants and self-certifies that he/she is legally enabled to form binding contracts under the laws applicable to his/her citizenship and/or country of residence.

Student Registration

When registering as a Language Student you will be required to provide personal information including (but not limited to): your desired Login; desired Password; your email address; your country of residence; your local currency and your local time zone. By registering an account you are confirming that you are over 16 years of age and that you accept the terms and conditions of use. To use the jensenmandarin.com platform you may also be required to setup a Skype account and notify Jensen Mandarin of your Skype name so that we may connect you to your assigned Language Teacher.

Use of any information supplied by you will be in accordance with the web site privacy policy. For the duration of your membership you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of use.

By registering with Jensen Mandarin as a student, you agree to provide your financial information to Paypal.com, via the Jensen Mandarin website, and you further agree that payment by means of Paypal.com must be completed before any Language Training Services can be scheduled to be provided. This requirement may be waived, with Jensen Mandarin’s express permission, for students residing in mainland China. It shall be understood that no Language Student’s financial information thus divulged will ever be used directly by Jensen Mandarin, for any reason (it will be used, and stored, only by Paypal.com). Accordingly, the Language Student’s financial information will never be stored on Jensen Mandarin’s website server, in any form.

Students - Booking and Payment

By accepting these terms and conditions, all Language Students agree to book lesson time with Language Teachers employed by Jensen Mandarin only by means of using the online booking system provided on the jensenmandarin.com web site, and to the payment of all Fees for Language Training services due to Jensen Mandarin, Co. Ltd. only through the payment functions provided on the jensenmandarin.com web site.

Failure to adhere to the booking procedure stated above, and in particular any action whatsoever taken by a Language Student registered at Jensen Mandarin to arrange tuition time with a Language Teacher employed by Jensen Mandarin through any other means such that the associated fees are not paid directly to Jensen Mandarin by means of the payment functions provided on the jensenmandarin.com web site, may result in both the cancellation of that Language Student’s Jensen Mandarin login privileges and the termination of employment at Jensen Mandarin of the Language Teacher concerned, and/or legal action against that Language Student or the Language Teacher concerned for recovery of any monies deemed owing to Jensen Mandarin Ltd .

Jensen Mandarin Language Training fees are a combination of Teaching Fees and Administrative Fees (paying for a share of everything the school offers except the teachers’ work – website functionality, administrative costs, etc). This condition shall not restrict Jensen Mandarin’s ability to seek to recover any monies owed to the company from either the registered Language Teacher or the Language Student concerned.

Jensen Mandarin reserves the right to alter or amend our standard Booking Fee at any time. All prices displayed publicly on Jensen Mandarin are inclusive of Teaching Fees and Administrative Fees.

Students - Refunds - Cancellation - Rescheduling

Policies governing these matters differ markedly, depending upon whether a Jensen Mandarin Language Student is enrolled in the one-to-one Chinese Language Lessons program, or the Group Chinese Language Classes program.

One-to-one Chinese Language Lessons students agree to the following conditions:

Should a registered Student be unable to attend a booked session, that Language Student is expressly requested to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice, before the scheduled start time of the session, when requesting that the start time be rescheduled to a later time and/or date. The Language Student may use the online booking system provided at jensenmandarin.com to request the change, or alternatively, send a message to his/her tutor. In the event this 24-hour limit has passed before the request is made, (for reason of emergency or memory lapse on the part of the Language Student) rescheduling will still be allowed up to 24 hours AFTER the originally scheduled session start time. After this 48-hour extension (grace period) has passed, the rescheduling function will become unavailable on the website. The Language Student may still request rescheduling, by use of a message sent to his/her assigned tutor, however, at that point, the tutor will retain the option to reject the request at his/her discretion. Jensen Mandarin reserves the right to limit the number of approvals of session rescheduling requests from a given Language Student, in a given calendar month, which are made less than 24 hours before scheduled session time; after such a limit is breached, fees will be deducted for the missed lessons, and no refund will be available. In addition, the extended rescheduling privilege will be revoked for that Language Student, for the remainder of that calendar month.

In cases where a session must be cancelled, and a refund is requested, this may be accomplished only if notice is provided a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the scheduled session start time. Notification can be delivered with a single click on the cancellation button on the student’s dashboard (preferred), but this may also be done with a message to the tutor.

Students enrolled in Group Chinese Language Classes agree to the following conditions:

Absences from Jensen Mandarin Group Chinese Language Classes, for any reason, will neither be rescheduled, nor refunded. There is one necessary exception to this simple rule: In rare cases where an online Group Class is disrupted by intolerable internet connectivity problems WHICH AFFECT THE QUALITY OF AUDIO TRANSMISSION FOR ALL OF THE PARTICIPANTS, then rescheduling will be arranged for that class. In anticipation of such events, Group Class students are requested to keep their regularly scheduled class times free for at least one week following the last scheduled class. There may be instances where a student cannot attend a rescheduled class; in such cases, a one-hour one-to-one make-up lesson will be the preferred solution; alternatively, a credit toward a new package of lessons can be arranged. If neither of these solutions is acceptable, a refund of fees for the disrupted class is possible.

Registered Language Students are entitled to a full refund of the Fees paid in respect to a lesson or lessons that are cancelled, or for any reason not satisfactorily delivered by Jensen Mandarin. In such circumstances refund requests should be directed by the Language Student concerned to the administration of Jensen Mandarin stating the full details of the lesson concerned, including the lesson reference number. The Language Student must report the issue within 48 hours of the scheduled start time of the lesson.

Communication Between Users

Jensen Mandarin Ltd reserves the right to monitor communications between all registered Users for the purposes of ensuring the integrity and security of Jensen Mandarin, and to ensure the safety of all Users of Jensen Mandarin.

Use of Skype or Other Video Call Services

By registering with, or using any service provided by Jensen Mandarin, all Users acknowledge that neither Jensen Mandarin nor the Owner are responsible for the quality of the Skype (or other similar service’s) interface or the quality of internet video/audio communications between a Language Student and a Language Teacher using Skype (or other similar service). Skype and Google Hangouts, etc, are third party communications solutions and are in no way the responsibility of Jensen Mandarin Ltd.

Jensen Mandarin Use

Jensen Mandarin and The Owner do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information or content presented on the Jensen Mandarin Web site.
